Each spoonful offers a symphony of rich chocolate and warm, spicy sweetness, making it an unforgettable conclusion to any meal.

Why This Godiva Chocolate Parfait is Utterly Irresistible

This chocolate parfait isn’t just a dessert; it’s an experience. Its profound richness and sophisticated flavor profile make it a beloved choice for anyone seeking a truly special treat. Here’s why this recipe stands out:

  • Unparalleled Chocolate Depth: The foundation of this parfait is a silky, intensely chocolatey cream, made by melting a generous selection of 18 premium Godiva truffles into hot cream. This isn’t just any chocolate; using a variety from the Gold Ballotin – including different creams, ganaches, and even a few with nuts – introduces an astonishing complexity and subtle textural nuances that elevate the flavor far beyond what a single type of chocolate could achieve.
  • Perfectly Balanced Sweetness: Despite its decadent ingredients, this parfait surprises with its balanced sweetness. The inherent bitterness of quality chocolate, combined with the carefully measured sugar in the marshmallow fluff, prevents it from being overly cloying. It’s rich, yes, but remarkably not too sweet, allowing the true chocolate flavor to shine.
  • Elegant Yet Effortless: These parfaits exude an air of sophisticated elegance, making them appear far more complex to prepare than they actually are. With straightforward steps and the ability to prepare them ahead of time, they offer a stress-free solution for impressive entertaining.
  • Versatile for Any Occasion: Whether it’s a festive holiday gathering, a romantic dinner, or a simple desire for something extraordinary, this parfait fits seamlessly into any setting. Its visually stunning layers and gourmet appeal make it a showstopper every time.
  • Make-Ahead Convenience: The chocolate base requires chilling, making this an ideal dessert for hosts who prefer to prepare dishes in advance. Simply assemble, chill, and then add the freshly toasted marshmallow fluff just before serving for optimal presentation and texture.

The Magic of Homemade Toasted Gingerbread Marshmallow Fluff

The crowning glory of these chocolate pots is the homemade toasted gingerbread marshmallow fluff. This isn’t your average marshmallow; it’s infused with the warm, comforting spices of gingerbread, offering a delightful counterpoint to the rich chocolate base.

Crafting your own marshmallow fluff at home guarantees a superior texture and fresh flavor that store-bought versions simply can’t match. The process, while seemingly intricate, is quite forgiving and immensely rewarding. When lightly toasted with a culinary torch, the fluff develops a caramelized crust and a smoky aroma that adds another layer of sensory delight, perfectly complementing the deep chocolate beneath. A charming gingerbread man cookie perched atop adds a whimsical and festive touch, making each parfait a miniature work of art.

The beauty of this dessert lies not only in its exquisite taste but also in its practicality. These parfaits can be prepared well in advance and stored in the refrigerator, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully. When it’s time for dessert, a quick torching of the fluff and a decorative garnish are all that’s needed to present a dessert that is both elegant and absolutely delicious. They have consistently been an absolute hit at every gathering!

Serving and Presentation: Elevating Your Chocolate Parfait

Presenting a dessert is an art form, and these chocolate parfaits offer a perfect canvas for creativity. We wanted to infuse a vibrant pop of color and ensure the presentation was every bit as decadent as the dessert itself. Each individual parfait was thoughtfully served with a fresh, vibrant pink flower from the garden, adding a delicate contrast and natural elegance. Alongside, a beautiful Godiva chocolate truffle rested on a side spoon, inviting an extra taste of luxury, and a small gingerbread man cookie completed the festive tableau.

From crafting this delightful Chocolate Truffle Eggnog to utilizing Godiva truffles as a stunning centerpiece at our Christmas brunch, we’ve become firm believers in the transformative power of Godiva chocolates. They are not merely confections; they are perfect for enhancing holiday desserts, creating memorable party favors, or adding an exquisite touch to any table setting. The presence of Godiva chocolates creates a ripple of happiness that lingers long after the last morsel has been savored.

Consider these additional serving tips to further enhance your parfait experience:

  • Glassware Choice: Opt for clear dessert glasses or small canning jars to showcase the beautiful layers of chocolate cream and marshmallow fluff.
  • Garnishes Galore: Beyond gingerbread cookies, sprinkle a dusting of cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, or a few candied ginger pieces. Fresh raspberries or strawberries can also add a burst of color and tartness, cutting through the richness beautifully.
  • Temperature Matters: Ensure the chocolate parfaits are well chilled before adding the marshmallow fluff. This creates a delightful contrast in temperature and texture when served.
  • Pairing Suggestions: Serve alongside a rich espresso, a glass of port wine, or a festive sparkling wine to complement the chocolate notes.

Ingredients

GODIVA Chocolate Parfaits

  • 2.5 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 18 pieces chocolate, from GODIVA Gold Ballotin box. Choose whichever ones you like!
  • 0.25 cup brewed coffee

Toasted Gingerbread Marshmallow Fluff

  • 3 egg whites
  • 2/3 cup + 2 Tablespoons sugar (separated)
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/8 cup molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

GODIVA Chocolate Parfaits

  1. In a medium, heavy saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a gentle boil, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and add in all 18 pieces of your chosen Godiva chocolates. Continue to stir until the chocolates are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and cohesive.
  3. Stir in the brewed coffee, which enhances the chocolate flavor without making it taste like coffee.
  4. In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the egg yolks and 1/8 cup sugar on high speed until the mixture is pale yellow, light, and incredibly fluffy. The more air incorporated, the better the final texture.
  5. Bring the chocolate milk mixture in the saucepan to another gentle boil, stirring continuously. This step helps to thicken the cream.
  6. Remove the chocolate mixture from the heat. Slowly pour half of the hot chocolate mixture into the beaten egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly to temper the eggs and prevent scrambling. This gradual incorporation is crucial.
  7. Once tempered, pour the egg yolk mixture back into the heavy saucepan with the remaining chocolate mixture. Return to low heat and boil for another few minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture visibly thickens. This ensures it will set properly when cooled.
  8. Remove the thickened chocolate mixture from the heat and allow it to cool completely before carefully pouring it into small individual glass jars or ramekins.
  9. Refrigerate the chocolate parfaits for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight, until they are thoroughly chilled and set to a firm, pudding-like consistency. Now, it’s time to prepare the marshmallow fluff!

Toasted Gingerbread Marshmallow Fluff

  1. In a clean stand mixer bowl with the whisk attachment, whisk the egg whites, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and cream of tartar on high speed until soft peaks begin to form. You can let this continue whisking while you prepare the hot syrup.
  2. In a separate medium, heavy saucepan, combine the water, corn syrup, the remaining 2/3 cup sugar, molasses, ground ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla. Bring this mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat for approximately 7 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning and ensure even heating. Reaching the correct temperature is vital for achieving the proper marshmallow fluff consistency.
  3. Once the egg whites have formed thick, glossy peaks, slowly and carefully pour the hot boiling sugar mixture into the egg whites while the mixer is running on medium speed. Pour in a steady stream down the side of the bowl to avoid splashing. Allow the mixture to fully incorporate between pours.
  4. After all the syrup has been added, increase the mixer speed to high and continue beating for several minutes until the marshmallow fluff becomes very thick, glossy, and holds stiff peaks. It should look like a voluminous, fluffy cloud.
  5. Carefully transfer the gingerbread marshmallow fluff into a plastic piping bag. Snip a small hole at the bottom of the bag. Then, pipe generous swirls of the fluff on top of the chilled chocolate parfaits.
  6. Using a professional kitchen torch, gently toast the marshmallow fluff until it achieves a beautiful golden-brown color and slightly charred peaks. This adds a wonderful smoky flavor and crisp texture. Finish by sprinkling some finely crushed gingerbread crumbs or extra ground ginger on top for an added spice kick. Enjoy this truly amazing and festive dessert!
